"La mode du XXL" Maison Martin Margiela 2000

Maison Martin Margiela 2000

In the history of fashion of the new millennium, there are not many collections that made revolutionary discoveries. This advertising campaign is devoted to such a collection, "La mode du XXL" by Maison Martin Margiela. The 2000 show was held in Paris. In this collection, Margiela for the first time turned to the over-size silhouette. The radicality of these things was that they went against the demands of the time.

The early 2000s was the era of glamorous silhouettes that emphasized legs, breasts. Margiela's clothes were far from the demands of the public, but they fit any female figure, were comfortable and functional. Then the designer's innovative ideas did not defeat glamor, but did so almost two decades later. The way we dress today, layering pieces, we owe to Margiela. Looking at the outfits, the extent of the influence on all modern designers is immediately apparent.
In my project, I tried to pay attention to the details of the outfits, which most vividly reflect the shape of the clothes, as well as the overall concept of the collection. All the posters are black and white, so that all the observer's attention was drawn to the shape, not the colors. At the same time, I tried to adhere to the brand's identity in general.
